I love Clint Barton with my entire heart. But that just doesn’t really extend to mcu clint as much. He just isn’t as good/interesting/funny/etc. a character, and that’s really fucking sad

Out of interest, what are your thoughts on MCU Clint? He's a big reason why I fell in love with Clint, and I'd like to know your thoughts about him, if that's ok.

of course! i actually liked the original avengers movie and i loved hawkeye in it, i thought it set him up to be a really cool character in future movies and because of that movie i really got into comics and i started to read some of clint’s older stuff and so that’s the clint i really fell in love with, especially when fraction’s run came out

and then age of ultron came out and just, well, for me it just absolutely ruined clint’s character. i can totally see how someone who hadn’t read any comics before age of ultron might like clint’s characterization in it i just really didn’t

like, the family was so out of left field cause i had been reading earth 616 not ultimates (which i have already expressed my dislike of :P, again, if you like it more power to you) and when he retired??? my boy would never retire while there are still people who need him, even if he was forced to like in the mc2 universe, he would still find ways to help people

also, just a PSA i have nothing against jeremy renner and i have absolutely nothing against people who enjoy the MCU it’s just a difference of opinion but we’re all part of the clint barton fan club so we should all get along and we can all bond over our love of clint barton! whatever version

last thoughts, i think the only thing i really have a serious issue with the MCU is their erasure of their heroes disabilities, clint has been deaf in comic runs since the 80′s and even if they weren’t going for comic clint, i still think they should have included the disability because representation is damn important
