honestly if you feel left out in the fandom by some fucking moodboards then make your ownđnot everything IS for you
so you agree? you only cater to people who look like yourself because you donât feel the need to for others, instead of making things inclusive for all the readers in the fandom space?
ânot everything is for youâ so basically when writing an x reader, you (the author) are making it for the person reading it on the other side of the screen (x reader). idk if you knew that. if thatâs not your intentions than make an oc x reader.
so yes, it IS for me and anyone else reading, no matter what color they are. so imagine if i came into the space, saying thereâs no specific reader in mind, just to post a moodboard of a certain color/race of reader. that doesnât feel very inclusive doesnât it? doesnât feel very âno specific reader in mindâ to me!
and let me say, thereâs nothing wrong with catering to a specific reader. i do it all the time, and iâm sure other authors thatâre poc do too. itâs one thing to preface something as a xblack reader or xdesi reader (as another author mentioned too) or even xwhite reader, but itâs another thing to push a way your reader is portrayed and not say anything.
a lot of people find that uncomfortable. to be so stoked about a piece of writing just to see that the author isnât thinking about the fact that someone whoâs not white may read it. itâs something so simple that takes two seconds.
i donât think thatâs so difficult!!
anyway my work is for EVERYONE, ANYONE can read regardless of what you look like. as long as youâre into nasty smut you can read lol.
