Common Misconceptions on Spirituality
Before I understood and began to practice spirituality, like others I was somewhat confused on what spirituality was, but like all beliefs it's a lifestyle choice that can bring about peace if you continue to incorporate it into your daily life.
There are many misconceptions about spirituality that need dispelling. Spiritual people are not always at peace with the world and they're not always happy. But intentionality and spirituality are important and becoming enlightened is even more important if we are to live in harmony with each other and to live content and peaceful lives.
We know spirituality is not a religion. While it's true, many religions do have a spiritual component to them, spirituality isn't one. Going to a church is based on religious teachings, spirituality is based on universal truths and open and transparent dialogue based around the universal laws.
Another misconception is that those who follow 'spirituality' are out of touch with the real world. It's simply not true. Those who follow spirituality, are engaged in daily life, but their connections are with the spiritual realm.
Speaking from my own experiences, being 'spiritual' helps you to get the best out of your life. When you practice Spirituality, every day worries reduce. With spirituality, you're putting your trust in external forces that help you shape your decision making.
When others also follow spirituality, it allows you to live your life with a little more ease.
