Purple / Magenta colors are linked to Pattern Magic in Ebott's Wake. Pattern Magic is okay at manipulating the environment and spectacular at analyzing and understanding it. And yes, I did draw on many interface elements and perks in various first person sneaking games when I wrote the last chapter, from the Thief series to Deus Ex to Dishonored.
Red magic, on the other hand, is about Communication. And, speaking purely hypothetically, if you had an adventuring party filled with ragtag misfits?
