In my database I have an INT value to determine whether a user can change their password or not. Now I wanted to be able to update that column automatically after a certain amount of time passed.
At first I was going to just use Java Threads and create a timer class, then I found that Java had a Timer. Finally I found that MySQL has an event scheduler that did exactly what I wanted to get done.
The MySQL event schedule is a lot easier than what I was planning to do with threads but at least through my search I learned more about how Java Threads and Timer worked.
Check out my code on GitHub.
