Malmö Opera is doing Pippin(the revival) next year… I’m thinking about going. Malmö Opera always produces really high quality work, and I’m sure this production won’t be an exception. The small things they’ve posted from make up and costume tests looks really cool… (Side note: I love how they’re always trying to give their audiences new work or things that hasn’t been played here before or for a long time, they’re first in Sweden with a lot of their productions. There are several reasons why it’s my favourite Swedish theatre…. The fact that they gave me If/Then might be one of them…) There are a lot of things with Pippin that I really love, but then there are some things that I didn’t quite get… Maybe I just need to watch the boot again. I’ve only watched it once…(I'm quite new regarding Pippin) I will probably understand it better if I see it live.

If I lived in Malmö I would definitely go…

Commuter Thoughts

The number of people on my bus drops exponentially from Monday to Wednesday. Do they have Wednesday off or is there something I'm not being told? I've taken this same bus and route to work every day for 3 years and this is always the case. Monday packed, standing room only Tuesday full, but still struggle to find a seat Wednesday 10 people, and we're all female. WTF? ??? Thursday it'll be packed again Friday it'll just be me and like 3 other people.

Honestly it’s kind of crazy just how much ballet affects my mood. I was having the worst™ day and then I got to the studio and five hours of dancing later (even though today was by no means a particularly good day), I’m infinitely happier than I was this morning

Thoughts on the London tube

Hahaha! This is what I get for writing an ask, cooking dinner, having a conversation and trying to play with the cat all at once. Sorry for sending that to the wrong inbox! The trip up or down the river is stunning and haunting, particularly passing the ruins on Bannerman's Island. Those two hours on Metro North, watching the world come alive with the sunrise, made the best daydreaming time.

No worries! OMG is that what it’s called? Bannerman’s Island? I’ve lived between the lower Hudson Valley and NYC all my life and I’ve never knew the name of the place!! I never even though to ask!

On one ride down to my godmother’s I made up a story about it. 

A wealthy and mean Englishman had stolen the small island from a breakaway tribe of Native Americans and built a castle on the land for himself and his riches. But before they left the island, a shaman cursed the land and as he continued to build and live among his possessions and gold, he began to go mad. He claimed that he’d heard voices and see the shadows of Natives coming to attack and steal his gold. In one of his states of madness, he threw a lamp and it smashed against the draperies in his room. It wasn’t long before the entire place was ablaze. The tribe watched from the banks as the castle burned brightly into the night, the rich man’s screams of agony piercing the night. Since that night, no one had set foot on the island ever again, fearing that the curse would drive them mad as well.

That’s the story I made up for it. It’s the one I tell myself even now every time I pass it. TBH, I don’t think I ever want to know the truth about it now. My imaginings are far cooler than the truth I bet. LMAO
