the glumness of the weather doesn’t help ease the weight of his heart; the gray skies and thick clouds only squeeze and torture the shallow beating in his chest to the point where it is near unbearable, it hurts. he never imagined, never could imagine an instance where this woman wouldn’t be right beside him. the dynamics of their relationship, all they had been through together had survived far too much to not last until the end of time, in hunter’s eyes. forever seems like an awful long time when he’d talk about others. it seemed unrealistic and unreachable, but with hana, forever isn’t enough time. but the cutoff is here, it seems. he can’t bare to see this sight, the sight of her back disappearing further and further away from him, possibly not to return. he had always thought there wasn’t anything that could separate them, but the appearance of someone in both of their lives seemed to drive this dividing rift between them, creating a fear in the both of them that they would lose the other. “i just don’t wanna lose you.” the words had left her lips and his heart dropped into the soles of his shoes. what could give birth to such an unbelievable idea, that the two of them, sewn together by a thread and joined at the heart, could separate due to some fear instilled by someone else? but he’d been just as guilty as her in having these thoughts — thoughts of losing her to the other because of a longer history had between the two of them, excluding hunter himself. he feared the past, she feared the future. so she was ‘taking it upon hrself’ to go, but this isn’t what hunter had wanted at all — there isn’t a breathing soul he would chose before her, for she is everything to him, he cannot live without her. and he can’t stand for it, of her walking away from him. he knows she doesn’t want to quit this, and he won’t let her. as swiftly as his legs could carry him, he runs to catch up with her, to grasp her hand in his firmly and to stop her from taking one more step away from him. his hands fly up to her shoulders and turn her to face him, staring into her eyes, seeing the tears in hers and feeling the weight of his own, lids full of tears that finally could fall by seeing her cry, someone he’s always seen as so strong breaking into tears over him, over the two of them. ❝ stop this, ❞ he starts, pulling her closer and pressing her against his chest, holding onto her and feeling himself starting to tremble, shake with the emotion so prominent in him. ❝ i will not lose you. i know you don’t want this, hana — i know that this means as much to you as it does to me. you’re the only person in my whole fuckin’ life that i’ve never doubted that with, i always knew you loved me as much as i love you. so don’t you dare go away from me because of this. we’re better than this. if you feel the same way i do, if you’re struggling like i am, can’t we make this a little easier? ❞ he holds his breath, still holding onto her tightly. ❝ don’t go. don’t leave me. i can’t do anythin’ without you, i love you, i need you. ❞

i hate him.

never before had such venom been spewed in three electronic words, but he means it down to every last letter. it’s rare that the past comes up between them, as they both know each other so well, the details of the other’s history is near committed to memory. but every time it gets to talking about the struggles leading up to the people they’ve become, hunter can’t help but bristle when his name is mentioned, the one that had mistreated someone he loves so dearly. and part of it is because he’d been through similar tragedies, abuse on three different levels by people he’d come to love to his MISFORTUNE. in addition to the fact that someone had laid their hands on his best friend … they’re the luckiest dead man alive, for if he’d have ever encountered him, there’d be nothing left of him but the memories he’s so disgustingly spread.
