Promote what you love, instead of bashing what you hate.
Imagine this scenario: You’re in a wonderful mood, enjoying a great day. Along comes a person who is complaining about everything. They just can’t seem to say a single positive word. They walk away, leaving you deflated. It feels like all of the positive energy was sucked right out of you. Now, consider all of the times […]Promote what you love, instead of bashing what you hate.

I just read an article about racing ones inner demons as a creative person. It was really good. I'll post a link in the reblog since Tumblr hate links, but basically, it talked about facing those demons and doing something about it. Not just complain all the time. These demons can be a bad past, or people saying your work sucks, or anything else negative. The demons can be your own thoughts, thinking you're not good enough. But the author said we see the world differently. We know how to take a negative thing and make it pretty (art! In whatever form!). It was really empowering to read, and is meant to inspire to do more, complain less.l, see the beauty in more situations.
Sometimes, progress is just learning how to talk to people without falling into a spiral of negativity.
Are you grateful for what you have or are you mainly a complainer? I regularly hear from poor, and often hungry, people in Africa. Their ituations and problems remind me how grateful those of us in Western cultures should be for at least the physical blessings we have. Do you give thanks to God? Does the Bible actually say to do that? Does the Bible say anything about people who are not thankful? Should you be giving thanks to God? For what? What are some of the fruits of not being thankful?
