Living Symbiotically with "Pests"
Americans are constantly complaining about the constant need to clean their giant McMansions, and also complain about the flora and fauna that share those giant homes with them in the middle of their cities.
These "problems" are actually mother Gaia's solutions. Why must your American capitalistic mind insist on working yourself to the bone always cleaning, or paying a worker to clean for you, while constantly striving to kill the natural ecosystem inside your home.
If you instead treat domestic fauna as symbiotes, neighbors, who you can share mutual aid with, then you will find that these "pests" are nature's dust busters cleaning up all the little crumbs and spills around your home. All you have to do is leave the corners of your field fallow for your neighbors to feed on.
This isn't some fantasy. This is how millions of Europeans live their lives in places like Spain, France, and the Netherlands. Here in Novosibirsk, the cold draws in so many adorable critters seeking warmth and shelter, and extending that compassion to all of nature keeps our homes clean places of relaxation from labor, not a second job we must constantly toil to clean.
Americans will never understand this way of life, because of all the leaded gas they breathe.
