Having a compromised immune system really has me feeling like I hit the lottery when I only have 10 sick days a year

Bisexual wally with asthma and a compromised immune system (if either of those things have like symbols) please and thank you
I had to do this as two icons if that's alright
I just want to remind the world that anyone can have a compromised immune system, without any visible clues. You might not realize, working with them, or casual acqaintance.
Anyone might have a mobility problem, and without always using mobility aids. Some people never use them, some people only need them occasionally. Some people with mobility disorders even have active jobs/lifestyles; we just can't participate on bad days.
There are thousands of reasons someone might have an immune system operating at less than 100%, and plenty are not obvious. Anyone you know might have well-controlled diabetes so they never mention it, or cover up asthma/COPD with "it's just allergies." A person could have a transplanted organ (or have donated a kidney or bone marrow!) that doesn't give them any noticeable problems when you see them.
Visible and invisible disabilities are everywhere. Please remember that we're all in danger right now, and please help us stay alive.
A question to my autistic or SPd friends: Have any of you guys figured out a solution to the mask problem? Specifically what I'm talking about is how hot it gets inside the mask and having something on your face for an extended period of time? Because even when things get better I'll still have to wear a mask when I leave my home and I cant stand it for more than maybe 5 minutes at a time...
I Know My Body
I know my body and with this whole COVID-19 thing, I can tell you I’m not too worried right now.
Yes, I am immuno-compromised because of my diabetes.
Yes, I will more than likely catch it if it finds its way to Hawaii Island.
And yes, I am an idiot.
BUT I know that I am young enough and strong enough that if I did catch it, I think I could survive. I also know that I will more than likely catch it if it shows up here. Why? Because I am a gigantic idiot and I cannot stop touching my face to save my life.
I work for a tour company and I interact with a lot of people while we’re out on tour. I think I’m smart enough to not take someone who is showing symptoms on tour with me not just for my safety, but for the safety of the other guests and our crew. I also don’t care if they try to complain and fight us. I am not going to die because you want to go on a zipline while hacking up a lung.
I have already talked to my managers about my immune system and we’ve agreed that I’ll continue working until there is a positive case of COVID-19 on Hawaii Island, in Hilo, near me. Then it will be a play-as-you-go situation. I’ve let my other job know that if a case does present itself, I will have to avoid gatherings of people for a while. Until then, I’m not afraid for my OWN life.
That being said, if I did get it, I’ll fight like hell to make it through, but I have to isolate myself from the rest of my family, which will be hard because I am currently sleeping on the floor in the living room and we don’t have a room that I can isolate myself. I’m worried that I might give it to the rest of my family which includes my elderly grandmother and my cousin’s infant son. As well as my husband who works in a restaurant, my sister who works in a lab with a half dozen other people all day, my cousin’s husband who works at a old folks home, my other cousin who is currently attending high school, and my aunty whose boyfriend has terminal cancer. I could potentially get A LOT of people sick.
I’m not afraid of catching it, it’s going to be inevitable for me. I’m afraid of passing it on.
For now, all I can do is stay vigilant, watch my own health, wash my hands, and keep an eye on others who may be showing symptoms. I know my body and I’m not afraid of COVID-19.
To all the covidiots out tonight in my fucking college town- you are the absolute dregs of humanity you selfish garbage dumps
