Who knows things about computers??
Anyone who knows about storage and hard drives, please read this and give me advice 🤣🤣
So, my external hard drive died, and I'm debating on if I should get a new one, or add more internal storage... I know that internal storage is more expensive, but external hard drives don't last as long, and I don't need it to be portable (I have all my devices linked to One Drive, and I have like 1tb of storage there).
But the issue I'm running into is that there's too many options for internal storage, and I don't know enough about it to even begin to weigh the pros and cons of each.
So my computer has two 2.5" bays and one 3.5" bays for additional hard drives, plus an M.2 slot for additional SSD storage, and I have no idea which is better to go with.
I don't quite understand the difference between SSD and HDD, even after reading multiple explanations, so I'm unlikely to be able to figure out which is best on my own, so if anyone has advice, please tell me 🤣🤣
I have a Dell G5 Gaming desktop with these specs (in case that's relevant lol):
9th Gen Intel Core i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz
458 GB hard drive
16.0 GB RAM
And I mainly use it to run Adobe programs, which are all huge and create and use big files, generally, so I'm running into problems.
And I'm 100% comfortable with physically installing additional internal memory (I've done it before, but I've never had to pick which one myself before 🤣🤣)
In hindsight, I should have opted to add more storage when I bought it, but for some reason I thought it had double what my laptop has so I didn't think I'd ever need more, but it actually has like half and I'm terrible with numbers 🤣🤣
And I don't know anyone who knows about these things, so I'm hoping some kind soul will help here lol... right now I have 3 SD cards and 4 USB sticks I'm using for additional storage and it's a terrible solution all around 🤣🤣
If I want to use it like a drawing tablet would a folding laptop work? i want to be able to use regular art programs not an app version.
is it worth the money to buy a mac when you already have a macbook?? the new color macs are so beautiful and i would love to have a monitor on my desk because i bought a desk table organizer and my macbook doesn't sit quite right on it and i was wondering if i should splurge and treat myself to a macbook maybe it’ll motivate me more im not sure what to do ... what are your guys thoughts??? please help me
Can anyone tell me why the hell games have to compile their shaders every time you start them up?
I'm not exactly a computer genius but I've never had to compile the same game twice
How do I stop my computer from updating to Windows 11? I got a notification that Microsoft is ending support for windows 10 in October, but I really don’t want windows 11
Anybody out there have a printer at home? I haven’t owned a printer for my computer in over 20 years but I’ve been thinking about getting one recently. I don’t really need it to do color, I’m mainly going to use it to print out shipping labels but I’m not sure what’s a good brand anymore? Any mutual out there have recommendations for Mac compatible printers?
