The rain began quite early in the morning, but it halted briefly about the time we got out of bed. Last night’s low was just 50 degrees, and the high today only got up to about 58, thanks to the rain, which continued off and on for the remainder of the day.
My blood sugar remained in the relatively healthy region, at 149. One more stick tomorrow morning just before taking off for my PCP appointment.
After coffee and the Monday brain games, I checked on the Flickr account, which was already over 1,000 views for the day. Nancy scanned through her social media, then gave Grace her morning meds and cleaned the kitty water fountain.
Before starting breakfast, Nancy did a quick yoga session. Then we made cheesy garlic eggs and toast. After which we showered, got dressed, made a grocery list, and went to the Valley Oaks Market of Choice.
When we got home, we took a nap, having been awake so early this morning and already tired.
After climbing out of bed following our nap, I updated the current OS on the new Mac, and then Safari. I passed on moving to the next OS quite yet, though everything went smoothly.
While the upgrade was happening, I jumped back into the iPad version of the latest DCI Banks novel I recently purchased, In the Dark Places. I continued reading it after the upgrade until I got a little tired. Then Nancy and I spent a few minutes chatting about our plans for the coming week and the holidays.
Nancy had her wine about 4:30 p.m., and I joined her for lap time. While she sipped, we also talked and listened to music from Spotify via her iPad. When she was done, about 5:30 p.m., we started dinner preparations. Nancy warmed up the chicken and rice, and I finished slicing up more zucchini and put that in the frying pan, spreading parmesan over it after it was done.
When we were done with dinner and the clean-up, we sat down for the evening’s streaming. The second episode of the new series of “Midsomer Murders” was available, so we watched that, then finished our TV watching with another episode of “Murder in the Mountains.”
I missed a call from my new sponsee, so I took a few minutes to check back in with him. He’s going to be out of town for a couple of weeks, so when he gets back, just after the first of the year, he will figure out when we can get together and finish his Tenth Step.
Nancy made her relaxation tea, and I returned to the computer to wrap up my blogging and Flickr work for the day.
Tonight’s low is expected to drop to 48 degrees, and the high could get to 58 again, as the current forecast calls for the rain to hold off until the middle of the afternoon.
Tomorrow morning, I will get up, check my blood and take my morning meds, get dressed, brush my teeth, and head off for the appointment with my PCP. Once that is all taken care of, I will take the car over to the dealer for the 30,000-mile checkup.
Nancy and I will have to wait until I get home to play our brain games, but at least she will have had some coffee before me. I might stop between the doctor and the car dealer and get a cup to keep me awake while I wait.
