I think a lot of people are forgetting that on tumblr fandom used to be practiced very differently. now everyone fucks off to their discords or tumblr groups to discuss everything with a select few, making tags be nearly only used for posting some finished fanworks or not at all

a decade ago people didn't have tumblr groups. people didn't even have dms. if you wanted to talk to anyone about anything you had to make a post, or send an ask (which more often than not would get published and thereby become a post in the end too)

so next time you think "I have a fandom thought but I have to find a small group of hyperspecifically like-minded people to share it with in private" remember all the freaks you could be missing out on meeting by keeping the tags dead. use tags, make friends. fuck discord.

My bird child, Peti turned 2 years old. Tbh I don't know his exact hatchday, but it should be in the end of June. June 29 is Peter's nameday in my country, so I picked it as a date to celebrate this tiny rascal. He is a very social and energetic little goblin. He loves anything with a touchscreen or a normal screen where he can see many things move around.

I finished my 1st year of uni!!

I finished all my exams last week and I must admit I did pretty well. I do hope I can continue with similar results in the future. To be honest, I feel superior compared to my classmates who cheat during written exams by using chatgpt and still fail miserably. In fact, I think there are some professors who deliberately create tests that are difficult for AI to decipher and solve. Being a university student in this day and age is a really strange experience.

The bad news is, I may or may not have carpal tunnel syndrome in my dominant hand. So drawing is out of question for now, but I hope it heals soon.

Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes

The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve. 

Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.

If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.

Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.

This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!

maybe i like pulling out my debit card instead of using apple pay. maybe i like untangling my wired headphones. maybe i like typing something into the search bar instead of using siri or whatever. maybe i like curating my own social media feeds over an algorithm. i just don’t think everything has to be perfectly streamlined and efficient i like it when things feel tethered to the real world.

i just can't convey the frustration and sorrow that it's been to grow up at first without the internet and then watching it bloom into this useful, fun, connecting force you sometimes spent time on, only for it to degrade into this constant oppressive waste of time and energy where people are constantly pumping out algorithmically designed content for max algorithmic appeal and even the most simple search generates either no results or an infinite abyss of ai generated slop none of which is usable or correct. we briefly had a library of alexandria and then fed it into a paper shredder so advertisers could sell a random mash of pulp back to us at a premium.

Hi! I'm doing well, though I'm super busy. Basically, I'm an office worker by day and a university student at night. The first semester went unexpectedly well, so I have high hopes for the rest. Birb is doing great, he's just learnt to say "I love you". 🥺 I miss drawing and I still love Fire Emblem, but I prefer spending time with birb or watching a movie whenever I have a little free time.

I hope I can get back to drawing in summer break, though. So yeah, I'm doing pretty great atm, thank you for asking dear Anon! I hope you're doing well too. ☺
