You want to 'link, but you're not sure what to choose? Here's some questions and suggestions, that maybe will help you.

Do you have an animal/a character/an object/a concept/etc. that you feel connected with in some way? If you feel a connection to something, maybe try 'linking this.

What's your reason for 'linking? E.g. if you wanna become more brave, try 'linking something that you associate with being brave (e.g. a lion), or a character that is brave in their source. Or maybe if you wanna 'link in order to cope with something, you can look for characters that went through similar experiences as you and found a way to cope, and you could 'link them.

If you have any other alterhuman identity already, maybe you could 'link something related to that. E.g. If you're an otherflicker and miss some of your 'flickers or want to make them permanent, you could 'link them! If you have a hearthome, you could 'link something related to it (e.g. if any species/characters live in the place that's your hearthome, you could 'link them).

Did you want to be a specific animal/character/object/concept/etc. when you were younger? Maybe you could 'link that, if you still feel some connection to that!

Or maybe there were characters or animals that you used to roleplay as? You could 'link them, too!

Interact with some media, and maybe you'll find some ideas for linktypes.

You can also read some encyclopedias. Maybe they will give you some ideas for a linktype. And even if after reading you wouldn't get any ideas, you still would have learnt something new!

Look around. Maybe at your home, or somewhere in your area, there's something that you could 'link!

These are only a few ideas. I hope these will help somebody! If you have your own ideas or suggestions, feel free to share them in the reblogs! And if you already chose a linktype/linktypes, feel free to share what made you choose them.

Also, for everyone interested in 'linking, don't feel afraid to experiment with your identity. Don't feel afraid to drop and change linktypes. There's nothing wrong with dropping and changing linktypes. If you feel like you don't need a linktype anymore, or the linktype is bringing you harm, drop it or change it. If there's anything that you think would be a better linktype for you than your current linktype, feel free to change it!

Short intro!

Hello I am slightly closer to the alterhuman community, I was new at least a week ago anddd Im an otherlink. I hope I'm welcomed here!! :]

My linktype is a unicorn!! That's my only alterhuman identity :,3. I like being a unicorn though because it was my choice and I love my choice, it makes me happy <3

I reaalllyy love animal anomaly, I don't know any other fandom that I like, I forget my fandoms alot sometimes.

I'm also a unicorn furry and unicorn kemonomimi! My fursona is a unicorn ( > ∀ < )

I'm also veogender! (I coined this term, I didn't make a flag yet-), but it means something was a heavy influence for my gender. Personally I don't have a gender but I dress feminine and I go by all pronouns, and unicorns were a heavy big influence for that which makes me veounicorn. :)

I'm mostly nonbinary tho :P

Interests: otherlinkity, alterhumanity, plurality (I don't really know much about plurality. But I wanna learn!)

hello!! i've been doing research on alterhuman labels since i've been questioning my identity, and im curious: is there a label that's like, conceptkin but as otherlink? in which you choose to identify as a concept, basically ig; conceptlink maybe? does that exist?? i just haven't found anything about it!

absolutely !! conceptlink would just be the voluntary identification as a concept.

even if the term hadn't been coined yet its still a valid identity. Plus taking the term of "link" with the prefix of your identity would already count as coining it.

Have any other concept kins/links ever experienced a physical sensation that could be called a shift related to your concept altertype? Mostly asking out of curiosity, I personally haven't had anything like it happen yet (though that may change as summer is just around the bend!) but I'd like to know if it's possible. Maybe describe what it feels like as well? Most of my shifts with all of my other linktypes are a mix of voluntary and involuntary, so I want to get an idea as to what the sensation of a concept shift may be like and see if I can will one into happening for myself.
