The City Re-imagined III
After analyzing the dialogues between Nietzsche and Franco across the twenty-five locations, I used text vectorization to create a new kind of map, one based not on geography, but on language and atmosphere.
Each point represents a location from the walk, but instead of their physical coordinates, they are placed according to the similarity of words and emotions used in the dialogues. This means that spaces closer on the map share a similar tone or “vibe” for example, the industrial areas resonate with words like echo, motion, work, while the riverfronts gather around silence, reflection, flow.
The result is a reimagined Turin, a city reconstructed not by its streets, but by its sensations. Monumental squares, quiet gardens, and cultural spaces shift and overlap according to the rhythm of their descriptions, forming a new geography guided by memory, emotion, and perception.
It’s no longer a cartographic city, but a psychogeographic one, a landscape drawn by the language of experience.
