feyruz (they/them) at G11!
Sorry iv been a bit dead for a while but
Bodil Gudrun pictures!!!
Gotta love concord larp.
I also put little doodads and trinkets in my hair hopefully I’ll have more in next time. But yeah we have a bit of a kit upgrade and I’m sure there’ll be even more next time. Got a few comments saying I look Andash tho so maybe I’ll try adding heavier fabrics and try be more Viking than pirate.
More importantly I managed to fit in a good three to five naps a day over the game and I ate so much food from the food trucks. All in all a pretty solid game. I might post some pics of my cool band members and do a bit of an introduction to the scaled and backstory stuff.
I think I chose right going for the surgery game, even if other people think I'm insane for diving right in with one of the more stressful positions for my first summit. I had 2 breakdowns, but considering how heavy this one was and the aforementioned inadvisability of going surgeon first time, apparently that was the minimum expected of me. camping was hard and I got dehydrated, which directly caused 1 or maybe both of the breakdowns.
feyruz was really fun to play, very different from thorn (my vtm larp character). feyruz feels a wider range of emotions, and more intensely, and their compassion is more genuine. I usually don't play religious characters, but considering the spheres are directly observable and provable, feyruz follows them quite naturally, so I gave feyruz a minor crisis of faith. it was interesting. didn't get resolved, but I might look into making them a priest as well, to heal the spiritual wounds of others as well as the physical.
we cried twice for teapot, once when feyruz was told she was terminal/when we came in to see her, and once when she finally let go. despite only meeting her at the medical summit and being with her for 2 and a bit days at summit, as an andashi sister; fellow surgeon; and all-around vibrant and kind person, she meant a lot very quickly. feyruz got a tattoo from our priest of the needle friend to remember her by. she filled all our cups.
the hospital team was really welcoming and kind, they felt like home. we spent a lot of time at the hospital tent because of this, even when we were not facing an influx of injuries from a conflux. when I had my breakdowns, I had to repeatedly find friends to tell me to rest before going back, I wanted to help so badly. in the end, feyruz participated in 5 surgeries (4 of which it led, and all of which were successful), and was put in charge of organising a portion of the triage team for one conflux as well. I'm really proud of making it to the end, and of getting so much done, and the hospital team was proud of me too.
overall, even with the various difficulties and hard lessons learnt, I'm glad I went to concord. and I hope to go back next summit.
as soon as I get on top of my stupid fucking back pain I have to complain about every 4 fucking minutes of kneeling over a patient for surgery I'm gonna be the strongest most immersive surgeon in esterra
so it turns out feyruz has gotten even more naïve than they already were. they befriended the crow doctors (scary plague doctor types) and now they're quite certain that everyone, everyone, no matter how scary or unpleasant, can be nice! and humanity is inherently kind at their core, even when they struggle to feel as others do or express it nicely. even the concord's enemies, even andash's own enemies.
daud suggested trapping the enemy army and starving them to death in a magic labyrinth and feyruz was standing there quietly horrified, especially as their mentor in obregon has been incredibly stressed and overworked with the wells rendering people dehydrated or trees.
also, today they befriended one to two very important wealdsages, one of whom liked them enough to give them a protection charm and the other of whom explained what that gesture meant. it means 3 things:
I do not wish to cause you harm
I wish that whatever harm may come to you comes instead to the charm
I wish to see you again
which feyruz was kinda blushy about, that was very sweet. and wealdsages are generally considered one of the scariest types of people at the concord, being both mages (secretive and powerful) and greenwealders (brooding and pragmatic). so... feyruz has grown quite sure that everyone is worth getting to know, and not assuming the worst of.
the fucking emotions feyruz felt last night when they returned from the sands to meet with their mentor and found half the damn concord in obregon's bazaar talking about a state of emergency and not elaborating is indescribable. I'd like to thank soleil for explaining exactly how many directions shit's fucked from before they could spontaneously develop a spiritual wound or a brain bleed or something from the lack of information.

concord is a western australian fantasy weekender larp set in the world of esterra. it features an alliance of various realms, heroes coming together for the betterment of those it protects. some are fighters, some politicians, some priests or mages, some merchants, and some surgeons and menders.
this blog currently follows doctor feyruz el'andash (they/them), an andashi surgeon working with the passage field hospital. feyruz has been a surgeon for over a decade, and had attended game hen and a medical seminar prior, but G10 was their first time at passage.
this is not an in-character blog, and it may feature aesthetic posts on occasion, as well as updates on events after they've been attended and commentary on the situation/winds/what's happening online. it may also delve into medical topics more generally, as they are relevant (though there won't be irl pictures of surgery), but such things will be tagged.
thank you for reading this far! pray you do not see me after conflux.
