i bet you must have dug deep to find that old conflict comic ! thank you for showing this again on my dashboard :) i hope op is doing good wherever they are rn
i absolutely did lol !
i went digging for it back in 2019 but wasn't able to find much, but i got hit with such a visceral snapshot of one specific panel while cleaning my room this morning and i just had to go hunting for it!
for anyone wondering, i'm specifically talking about the 60+ part Conflict Comic done by the now deactivated user @/asksomecoolkids (who also used the usernames 'powdernpetals' and 'afternoonchai' at some point as well iirc?). the comic was very loved when it was coming out toward the end of 2017/early 2018, and at the time a lot of artists were trying their hand at panel redraws of it. the original artist had such a cool art style and did gorgeous expression work that many (including myself) had a lot of fun recreating.
if you're interested in reading an old markiplier fandom classic, i have the majority of it reblogged under #conflict comic on my blog :)
thank god for the time honored fandom tradition on tumblr of making 'x-protection-squad' blogs and similar blogs that collect and reblog posts from one specific corner of the fandom! shout out to @colonel-william-protection-army and @wilford-and-dark-support-group for having the biggest chunk of the comic's many parts reblogged between the two of them, this would have been a much bigger hassle without their curated blogs! idk if either of y'all are still around since activity has gotten low, but regardless i love and appreciate the place you've had in this community <3
i managed to find most of the comic, but i'm still currently searching for part 4, part 48, part 49, and any parts after part 63 if they so exist (i'm not certain when they stopped updating before they deactivated). if anyone has them reblogged or know where i can find working links of them to reblog for posterity, please let me know!
and if anyone knows where to find asksomecoolkids now, if they're still posting art, or if they just wanna be left alone, please let me know that as well. i hope they know that ppl still look back fondly on their art even 6+ years later :)
