Dustin and Steve on a road trip and then they notice a lot of weird things within the road trip. They call Mike using a pay phone and Mike has already figured it all out. They then have to help Mike solve what the fuck is going on. (Bonus if the further out Dustin and Steve go away from Hawkins the weirder stuff gets)
Lucas, Max, and Mike are all in a team together trying to figure stuff out. It’s a few years later so Max and Lucas are a little shocked that Mike called because he hasn’t been recently.
Will being a vessel that Vecna uses to spy on the group. Once everything is safe and secured in Vecna’s eyes Vecna sends Will off to college far away. When Mike figures all this stuff out he doesn’t call Will because he’s scared and they didn’t leave on the best terms.
All of this leads to the A plot (Mike Lucas and Max) clashing with the B plot (Dustin and Steve) which clashes with the main plot (Will trying to escape Vecna). Like maybe Dustin and Steve go far enough away from Hawkins that they reach where Will is. Max talks about her time and Vecna’s mind and uses that to then get to where Will is being held. They then defeat Vecna but not without someone getting hurt (Will looses eye and Mike looses arm ???).
