Oh! I'm running an ATLA inspired dnd campaign. I homebrewed rules and mechanics for bending. I've got 4 players so one for each nation. We havent played yet but I'm super hype to see what they do with the bending!

Honestly that sounds so impressive and I would love to see those bending mechanics! Are you going to have an avatar figure in this world who can bend all four? 

I’m sure your players are going to do some wild stuff with these powers lol. This is such a cool idea for a campaign, I hope yall have a ton of fun when you play :)

i am a HUGE fan of hurt/comfort, so long as it has a happy ending.  recovery stories that are realistic (no magical healing, there are still problems but they can be overcome, etc) and have a hopeful ending are *chef kiss*.

T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?

some of the real dark stuff puts me on edge.  anything where a character gets stripped of their agency, especially if they end up realizing it’s for the better or decide they’re okay with it, is a big no in my book.  even if they’re not okay with it, it makes me uneasy.  case in point: i literally cannot watch orange is the new black without having a panic attack because the thought of being in jail is so terrifying to me.

My players were a little iffy with in character interactions at first so they started off with "*name* says to them..." or "*name* would probably say...". So sort of a fifty split of in character and out of character, and they've sort of transitioned from there. It slowly pushed them toward total in character discussions. Plus, in the middle of scenes, once the ball starts rolling, it should get easier

i find it easier to just speak words, if that makes sense? esp since everyone else is doing the same. 

there are some situations easier than others (i.e. snake character not accustomed to human society discusses with my character, who was lost in the woods for a while, if whether This Situation Is Normal). but others, like discussing missions or meeting new people, just turns into me trying to get a lot of information and be liked, which is not entirely in character.

i’ll maybe try to wait until there’s actually an appropriate and established place for my character to speak? unless they would interrupt…sfkhgsd this is pretty hard huh?
