Stuck at home with strep. Serves me right for working all day in the rain. Chilling in bed, watching Perfect Blue and FINALLY, fucking FINALLY, getting good pictures of my Congo tetras. Their colors are really coming in, which is so gratifying as an aquarium keeper; it means the water quality is good and the environment is stress free

The Congo biotope - definitely not accurate yet, as you’ll never see A. normani there, or duckweed, but it’s a WIP. Going to be adding some emersed grasses once they’ve passed QT, and if I can get hold of other species found in the Lefini river, that would be great. I do have a group of juvenile Aphyosemion pyrophore coming at some point, and if I can close all gaps on the tank then I’ll probably add them. They’re found near the Lefini, but I don’t know that they’re found IN the Lefini. Anyway.
