The Issue with Bad Boy Roommates
Lake Starlight, Book 2
By: Piper Rayne
Narrated by: Connor Crais & Melissa Moran
Okay, does anyone else really want to move to Lake Starlight, or is it just me? I absolutely love Piper Rayne's characters. This duo has a talent for creating characters that practically leap off the page. They're that real. And they've done it again with Van and Brinley, which brings me back to moving to this small town.I could relate to Brinley on so many things, including her reluctance to move on. It made my heart happy to see her spending time with Van and even considering something more. And Van! Holy moly, is this guy pullin' out all the swoons! I just don't think it's possible to read, or listen, to this book and not be head over heels for Van by the end.The only drawback for me was the conflict between Brin and Van - you know, that thing that leads to the big aha moment. I kind of felt like this pair deserved an easier go of it, considering Brinley's hurdle. That said, I still totally loved the story, and I can't wait for book 3 in the series.I had the pleasure of listening to this one, and I'm just gonna say that duet narration is spoiling me. It's so easy to get completely lost in the story, and Connor Crais and Melissa Moran give an awesome performance. Melissa Moran brings out Brinley's hesitation about moving on and her back and forth about her attraction to Van, and she does it quite convincingly. Connor Crais is as good as ever, and that voice is just perfect for the so sexy Van Adler. If you haven't gotten swept away by a Piper Rayne romance, I highly recommend it, and The Issue with Bad Boy Roommates is a good place to start. It is part of a series, but the authors give enough information so that it can easily be read as a standalone. Not that it will stand alone for long once you've met any of these characters.

Wild Ever After is one of the best takes on fake relationship/marriage of convenience romance that I've read or listened to. Declan is totally swoony, and I don't mind admitting that I spent a fair amount of time wanting to give Jade a good shake and ask her what she was thinking. This pair is just all kinds of sexy, and I couldn't get enough of them. Then we have the narration, and CJ Bloom and Connor Crais knock it out of the park - or in this case, I guess the correct lingo would be light the lamp! Either way, I can't imagine anyone else as Jade and Declan. The emotion, the wit, the swoon, it all comes through loud and clear in the performance these narrators give. The more I see of Rebecca Jenshak's talent, the more impressed I am, and I can't wait to see what's next from this author.

Okay, I'm not sure what cave I've just crawled out of, but this is my first time reading/listening to AL Jackson. How on earth have I missed the talent that is this author? All I can say is this is an oversight that will be corrected because if everything else is even half as good as Milo and Tessa's story, I'm a fan for life. Seriously, I had to take a beat and just think about just how good this book is and try to sort my thoughts before even starting my review. Now, let me take a sec to explain that - I'm a note taker, so I jot down thoughts and feelings as I read or listen, then I refer back for anything I want to pass on. Not this time! I was so caught up that I didn't jot down a single note. Not one. And I could not stop listening.Enough about me; this is about Milo and Tessa, who are a terrific couple. Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor give voice to this pair, and I don't know if I've come across a better narrator choice for either character. Tessa is so full of life despite being knocked down more than her fair share. She's a bit all over the place, but it works for her, and Samantha Brentmoor captured everything Tessa is. Every nuance comes through perfectly. Then there's Connor Crais and Milo - OMG, there's Connor Crais and Milo! I could listen to Connor Crais read the dictionary, but I'd much rather hear more Milo. Every time Milo called Tessa Little Dove, I just melted. Milo is all tough guy who sometimes goes too far wrapped around a total sweetheart. And he has kids! I loved when Milo went all marshmallow-y with Tessa and his kids. And holy moly, when things got hot, I'm pretty sure there were flames. So, to sum it up, Promise Me Always is wonderfully written and superbly narrated. It's a brilliant combination of steamy romance, love and loss, friendship, found family, and finding the one who lets you be you. I can't imagine a better introduction to AL Jackson., and I can't wait to dive into more of her books.

🦩REVIEW🦩 DECKER: Changing the Play by Kayley Loring and Connor Crais Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5 stars 🦩“…this can’t happen again, and now I really know it can’t. Because I’m never going to come in second place again.”🦩 This book is definitely a sports rom-com, its full of insights of football plays but believe me it gives you even more depth in knowing Decker, oh! The Panty Wrecker. This book has the amazing essence of Kayley Loring’s stories but, there is something extra in every chapter, you can totally appreciate the change in this story, its amazing what two great authors can make when they find the perfect match to write, I have just one thing to describe this book: PHENOMENAL! The story flows and its easy to fall in love with the characters, Hanna Strong just inherited the Boston Tomcats, and with no idea of what the game is, she needs all the help to manage the team, and Decker as the QB, needs her to be at the top of her game to make them a team again. Hannah and Decker just got a special place in my heart, the banter between them was witty, funny and let me tell you that the smexy times between the characters is just to combust, they are hotter than ever!!! 📚QOTD: What was the first book you read on 2022??
