we can’t talk about nanako & mimiko i fear because while they love each other beyond words and find home in each other, their most beloved person is suguru. he is, as they put it, ”the man we love.” i won’t go as far as to say they care about him more than they care about each other, but rather than being each other’s Most Special Person, it’s more like they can’t live without each other. as twins, they are one. and their Most Special Person is the man who set their village on fire.
“can’t say i’m surprised to see you here .” / @connotations
He asked me, recently, what is was that this painting represents. Though it isn't entirely complete, I wish to share its meaning. What I am going to share may not be the usual connotations of each aspect, but how I intended them to be inferred, and how I feel.
The flames, specifically gas-fueled: 1. Heat and tentions in my life recently have left me feeling like my heart is burning 2. The feeling of suffocation in my own thoughts, almost killing me, the same way that most gases would 3. The fragility of the small glimmers, how I see good things as an indicator of future negatives
The clock, pocketwatch specifically: 1. My constant struggle with time keeping, it feels like it's always slipping away 2. My lack of time- everything is moving so quickly, it feels inevitable that I will run out of it before I can reach happiness 3. I wish to, at some point, grab a hold of my time (in a way), so much that I am in control of myself and my life- something I have never really done in a way that makes me happy
The butterfly, Monarch (Danaus Plexippus): 1. metamorphosis: I want to develop entirely into my truth, find my self, change my habits, much like the caterpillar to the butterfly 2. I ought to find the beauties in natural environments, the aspects I rush over when I am stressed and anxious, they are the most important, and may aid me in my jouney
I know he won't see this, nor would he tell me if he did, but it feels good to put it into words. So even though he won't see it, I still want to say this in dedication to him:
Thank you, for you have saved me in ways you couldn't have guessed. You have made me laugh in the times I felt like crying, always made me feel welcomed, understood and listened to. I could go on and on about what you mean to me, but I wont. In all: thank you.
Y'all ever think about the fact that tf fanfic lends a ton of nonsexual terms sexual meaning? I'm thinking of course of plug-n-play, interface, spikes and valves etc. (And I also want to know if there is any fanfic/art playing with the fact that in G1 Spike's name is, well, Spike, because I think about that a NORMAL AMOUNT.)
WELL, since I have been submitting my RAUNCHY GLORY HOLE TRANSFORMERS FANFIC to all sorts of writers for advice (which is again, yes a very normal thing to do, but all jokes aside I think that tf fanfic is legit art and so I'm treating it as such), I have discovered the INVERSE in that there is a word with a sexual connotation that tf makes NOT SEXY. And that word is subspace.
My library's writer-in-residence has pointed out the BDSM connotations of the word subspace, which I NEVER EVEN CONSIDERED because to me subspace is just the pocket of space in a giant robot.
(Also interestingly enough she suggested changing my fanfic from third person to first person, but I am so rarely okay with first person fanfic that I don't think I can do it-- lmk know your thoughts! Like, there's defs fics in first person that I like, just not a lot of them.)
Another word with a sexual connotation that TF uses nonsexually is sl*g-- got lots of feedback on an earlier piece about my use of the word sl*g as a swear word but I was like it's a mining term?! and here in north america I almost never hear it used in the nefarious misogynist way. So I ended up keeping it in the piece, and no TF fanfic readers have objected (so far.)

A question that came up around the Christmas table that I want public input on (This is what my family argued about rather than anything important.)
When discussing/mentioning/writing about members of the bovine species what do you feel are the proper connotations (NOT the dictionary meaning)
Cows=Dairy products, Cattle=Meat products
Cows=Meat products, Cattle=Dairy products
There is absolutely no connotative difference between Cows and Cattle

How you feel about hypersexual men?
So if you’re actually referring to hyper sexuality and it’s literal meaning—than I would say it’s a negative vice that needs to be understood, regulated, & controlled so that it doesn’t override your quality of life. That applies to both of the sexes, not just men. And I feel the same in regards to both.
