A note from the United Synagogue Youth President Zachary Zabib on the loss of lives after the Dead Sea flooding:
This is an absolute tragedy, not only for Israel, but for Jewish youth around the world. I am always especially grief stricken when the victims are my own age.
These are teenagers who were looking to serve the country they loved, and who were supposed to have much more life ahead of them than behind them. It is unimaginable to think of the potential these teens had, that they will unfortunately not be able to realize.
I, as well as USY, mourn for these lives lost. Baruch Dayan HaEmet.
