Thoughts while editing my next lit of content (yes this is made out of procrastination)

"Why did I change the lighting half way through? Wtf?"

"Why is adding text... the hardest part?"

"Oh I don't actually know enough about this character to do this trend"

"All I ask for is [specific effect], I don't ask for much"

"Wow, this actually kinda cringe, but I need content"

"I need to hurry and post this video before this is no longer trending"

*internal screaming*

"Why did I make myself edit this? There was a much easier way?"

"This is also cringe"

*more internal screaming*

"UGH I have to go back and add watermarks"

"Why did past me make this decision?"

"Oh shit, maybe I can't pull off this effect"

*still internal screaming *

"This would be finished by now had I just sat and edited it in one go"

This is kind of true but kind of not. For me, editing is more about adding flesh to the skeleton that I’ve created. I’m Victor Frankenstein and my story is my creation.

HEY WRITING FOLKS

Hello everyone! It’s me again. I am now a college student which is why I haven’t been around much. I would love to offer my hand at editing your works for you once again! I am willing to copy edit and/or edit for content purposes. This goes for original works, fanfiction, or even non-fiction things including works for school like essays or long papers. 

My flat rate charge is $5 with an increase after 50 pages. The money thing can be dealt with over direct messaging.

!!! Attention Fic Writers !!!

Looking for freelance editing work!

Editing written works is a huge passion of mine, and I hope to make it my career one day.  Where better to begin than with an attempt at freelancing? 

I’m offering copy editing and content editing for both original works and fanfiction (depending on the fandom).  

In copy editing, I’ll be making sure everything is grammatically correct, smoothing out any inconsistencies, and helping to improve style, formatting, sentence structure, and stylistic flow.

In content editing, I’ll be focusing on how well-developed and organized the theme/plot is, if the story is moving at a good pace, and if the characters are original/believable.  I’ll also be looking out for any contradictions in the main plot and any sub-plots.

Since I’m just starting out, I’m still figuring out some definitive rates, but I figured it’s safe to go with the Kofi method for now. :)  Here’s what I’m thinking (and any feedback on this would be appreciated as well):

1000 to 1500 words = 2 Kofi 1500 to 2250 words = 3 Kofi 2250 to 3000 words = 4 Kofi 3000 to 3750 words = 5 Kofi 3750 to 4500 words = 6 Kofi 4500 to 5250 words = 7 Kofi

aaaand so on!

If you have any works that far exceed these increments, please feel free to message me, and we can discuss rates from there!  Depending on the length, rates may then go by page, which we can definitely iron out together. :)
