Any thg fic recs? About anything
Anon, I'm sorry to inform I should probably be the one asking you haha I've only read the grand total of one hunger games fic in my life...so far. This hayffie one, which has this nice back and forth between past and present. I grew up bookish gen Z style (goosebumps, percy jackson, hunger games, his dark materials, song of ice and fire) but completely isolated from fandom culture. It was just me and the books, didn't have friends to talk about them, I didn't know what ao3 was until 2020 lol. funny real story: you know the invite thing for ao3 login? I interpreted it as "you need to get a referral from someone who has an ao3 account" and I didn't "know" anyone online and was so shy, I just thought "ah only people with referrals can access fanfics, bummer". how not to gatekeep yourself 101 class here.
when I'm writing a particular character, I end up not reading anything with them as main so I haven't read any Plutarch-centric fic. SOTR gave me so many insights I haven't yet translated into stories I feel like I need to focus on this organically as long as it's written. because my ongoing story is filling the gaps of Plutarch from SOTR to THG, so it's a collection of missing scenes not even an AU, it feels like what I read is for research only (which I love because I'm a nerd).
I'm shocked I'm the first person to write Caesar Flickerman/Claudius Templesmith (I watched the movies literally assuming they had some mess going on and it was canon, they are my gay version of Drusilla and Magno, it's as established to me). I'm writing a second fic for them at the moment. It's a mess. Trying to find my inner Bret Easton Ellis for them. Like watching a car crash.
my latest fic is a bro-to-bro, father-to-father-to-be Beetee & Plutarch missing scene (friendship fics are as valuable and enriching as romantic ones!!! I love a good friendship-focused fic) + setting the stage for later Beetee/Wiress. This is such a dear pairing to me, I want to give it a try and see what happens.
is it gauche to answer a fic rec ask with fics you've written? I don't like gauche!
if you're in the THG fandom, feel free to let your fic rec for anon in the comments!

The first step in playing cyvasse: strategize your positions of power and then consolidate them.
I've been meaning to write a character study of Plutarch (SOTR era) and by coincidence, in my full Gen Z-ness, some nights has been playing in my head all evening. one thing led to another so here's something fresh from the oven:
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
a little bit about Plutarch's childhood and formative years, his marriage, his beliefs and ultimately his role in the big picture. new series named after my favorite line in sunrise on the reaping, we're all part of a continuum.
Most UNDERRATED as hell (pseudo) incest brothers ever.
