Control

So last night i decided to take control of my life. I have always been in control, but i just don’t think i was fully in control. I let my mind wonder too much, thinking of things i can do or have. well today i’m going to start taking action. if i want something i’m going to get it. 

I’m going to take control of my thoughts

i’m going to take control of my life

i’m going to take control of my education 

i’m going to take control of my beliefs

I’m going to take control of my mind, body and soul. 

For my benefit.

Love is not a weakness. Irony is.

Someone once told me that they had really loved someone, but they stated, in a sarcastic tone, that it wasn’t like “Oh my god I loved her so much!” As if the love you have for others should be from a sarcastic distance. I have been made fun of for love before--for trying too hard, or giving too much. I’ve been scoffed at, and probably lost a few relationships because of my giving nature. But I cannot see progress for the human experience in any other approach.  Love is not sarcastic. Love is vulnerable, close, giving. Love is about letting go of control, and trusting others as you release yourself. In this scary world there is a need for deep control, but we are on a large rock floating through space. How much control do you think we really have here? Not much, my friends.  Irony and sarcasm are often ways of keeping things at bay and allowing your colours to almost peak through, but I don’t believe “almost” is enough. I get it. It’s scary to release and give up that control, but “almost” is lonely, and more scary. “Almost” leads to broken, untrue connections.
