Hey there, I’m pretty new to being radfem and I don’t have any female friends, so I wanted to know your opinion on this...a while back my bf and I got into a physical fight in which I pulled his hair and he retaliated by repeatedly punching me in my right eye. (At least that’s how I remember it; I wasn’t impaired and I have photos of the black eye) well he was scrolling through my photos last night and came across the photos and got really defensive, saying : “that’s from when you punched yourself in the eye! Remember?” Which granted did happen, but the black eye was on the other side...because I’m left handed...so obviously he is trying to save face because he doesn’t want to acknowledge his actions, but i was caught so off guard at this obvious lie that I just went along with it. What do you think? I honestly want to hold onto it until he pushes me over the edge with his condescending narcissistic behavior because I’ve been covering for him this whole time out of guilt...but I’m pretty tired of him just straight up lying to my face like I’m an idiot. He constantly brings up times I’ve “cheated” (broke up with him to pursue a healthier relationship which he proceeded to destroy, sometimes through violence) to guilt trip me and I always take the blame and I have tons of guilt and shame...granted I’m far from perfect. Sorry this is so long, I really needed to talk to a fellow female about this...
Girl, leave him ASAP. It's not something you can hold over his head because he doesn't seem to have any shame at all about his actions and is happy gaslighting and lying to you. It's like, what else could he possibly be capable of? It's easy to stay in a relationship when you're so used to someone's presence but this is incredibly toxic. You deserve something healthier. Throw the whole man out; this relationship won't get better and you know it!
Also, get good female friends pronto. Guys can never support you like your fellow women can. Male solidarity runs strong
