set on a rainy afternoon at hoho myoll cafe with @durifmd.
drops of rain gather on the window.
haneul takes it as a sign.
not an omen but of prosperity and good luck. lost in the pitter-patter, floating in the in-betweens and fractions, tranquility builds. he has the day planned out—so to speak. nothing extravagant. just something plain and simple. he prefers it as such and hopes duri will, too.
holidays long expired, today isn’t anything special. a mundane weekday. but haneul has a vision to make it worth remembering. behind him is a volkswagen refurbished to serve the cafe. an old model, the front extends out the exterior and the back reaches another area of the quaint, quirky establishment. the inside is decorated with old picture frames and knick-knacks. where the trunk is a toy model of a red telephone booth as well as an idol phone one has to crank the dial instead of pressing in numbers. for a while, as he waits, haneul amuses himself with it, snickers behind a fitted black face-mask. he dresses too drab but matches the overcast skies. no one takes notice, fortunately, so he doesn’t mind the disguise all too much.
he hopes duri can see them, however. the cafe runs slow, tables and chairs of various styles and colours are barren except for where he sits, phone tucked in large hands. the front doors are shut today, rain to blame.
haneul doesn’t mind. prefers gazing out at the grey scenery, hoping to spot a familiar figure. duri is an older idol he has a great deal of respect for. knight in general. luck was on his side when he met duri. there are similarities to his older brother but nothing concrete. having an older brother figure, haneul likes it—likes duri and wants to spend a little time together. an almost belated birthday celebration yet not quite.
“hyung!” he sees duri and stands, arm extended into the air. bowing is nearly instinctive. ear to ear, albeit soft, haneul smiles. “you came just in time. i hope the rain wasn’t too much of a bother! i haven’t ordered anything. please get whatever you like! my treat.”
