for the lovely @gcldenhearts!!!
nathan’s fingers drummed along the dash of his piece of shit car as he nervously went through his plan in his head. his gut was so far down, he thought it might fall out of him from sheer nervousness. it was new years’ eve and while he had been invited to many parties, all he had on his mind was one person. as he finally forced himself out of his vehicle, he began to feel like he was going to throw up.
however, nothing was going to stop him. with a giant bouquet of flowers in hand, the boy carefully walked up to the door of her home. he could hear the bicker of family from behind the door and the twinkling lights of a Christmas tree that was still up. it made him miss his own family, he hadn’t seen his older sisters in ages. maybe he could bring her next time he saw them. nathan found himself adjusting everything: his hair, his scarf, his coat (that he bought to look nice) and the flowers.
how he got the courage to knock was beyond him but the first thing he was greeted with was an unamused chungwoo. he seemed surprised that he was there but soon he was yelling for the one person that nathan had been itching to see. now she was even more surprised than her brother and walked out into the cold in her pajamas, closing the door behind her for privacy. her hair was in two perfectly made braids, similar to the ones he would do to her hair when she was over at his place.
why did she have to look like the most perfect thing to grace his world? her eyes reminded him of two golden pools of thick honey with the whole galaxy flecked within them. her skin seemed so soft that it took all of his strength to not caress her cheek but her small, pouty, strawberry petals were making him itch. he wanted to kiss her so badly in that moment. he must have been staring hard since she called his name for the fifth or sixth time.
“i missed you.” he blabbed like an idiot while handing her the flowers. there goes the plan. “i was going to go out with my friends but i’d rather be with you.” god, he was so nervous. the high schooler must have thought that he was lame. his car was terrible, he could barely afford to treat her to anything and he was struggling to even pay his own rent while in school and yet, he would give her his world if he could. quietly, he leaned over to place a few butterfly kisses all over her face with the most tender touch.
“can i join you guys for the new year? it’s fucking freezing out here so i’d like to come in and meet everyone. if that’s okay. if not, i can just go home and eat peanut butter out of a jar or something and just talk to you on the phone. and now i’m blabbing like an idiot.” he mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. “happy new year though.”
