i remembered that tumblr post about how shawn spencer from psych pretending to be psychic would be better received by the in universe characters than admitting that the smallest overlooked details can be used to solve cases. and they're 100% right but also, shawn and gus very often and with increasing casualness tresspass and break and enter and break laws in order to solve these cases. and chief vick, who we as a fandom have accepted knows shawn isnt actually a psychic, would much rather let the play keep going cuz it gets her solved cases without having to abide by laws (something cops would love but we aren't gonna get into the copganda of the show rn tho i will argue that the pilot actually held the least amount of copganda showing cops as incompetent AND dangerous but then the rest of the show then either showed them as competent or non threatening (to a point, they instead started making the threat of violence a joke) or worse that episode where a black man is falsely imprisoned, gets out and has shawn and gus take his case, juliet who was the reason the man got wrongfully imprisoned gets mad at shawn for helping the guy and not her cuz the guy rightfully hates cops, but then they show juliet as this badass cop who caught the actual criminal and have the guy and her reconcile, which was imo vile, showing more grace to her than the man who lost years of his life. and plus all it showed was that juliet WAS capable of catching the right person but for some reason didnt work as hard or properly to do it the first time around to make sure she didnt get the wrong person sent to prison and ruin their lives. wow this did end up in getting into the copganda) its still my fav show tho, im just very aware of the copganda
