Tarot Reflections: Six of Pentacles & Abundance
During my full moon ritual last night, the Six of Pentacles was one of the cards I pulled to represent what I need to release right now. At first, I struggled with what this generally positive card could mean in this context. Am I the wealthy, charitable person? Am I somehow “giving too much” of myself (queue violins)? Or am I a beggar?
I pulled a clarifying card from my Archangel Oracle Cards deck and it clicked almost immediately:
The matching scales that appeared in both cards left no doubt in me that they related directly to each other. Suddenly, the deeper meaning emerged. I realized that this was a message to let go of my belief that I need more and don’t have enough -- in other words, my core belief in lack.
The idea that I can’t be okay UNTIL I have fill-in-the-blank is an insidious one that too often creeps back into my mind if I’m not conscious enough. This is the kind of thinking that dominates our insane world and keeps most people on a continuous wheel of suffering. It’s very easy to slip back into this kind of thinking, since it governs the world of illusion in which we live. I was grateful to be reminded of the Truth - the Divine Order of the Universe, which couldn’t be further away from the thinking of this world.
The Truth is that my outer circumstances are nothing more than a reflection of my inner world - my thoughts. And when I have a core belief in lack, I will simply continue to manifest the experience and feeling of lack into my reality. So, even if I get that specific thing that I want, nothing will ever be enough. Before long, there will be something else I "don’t have” that I “need to have.” It is a constant state of needing more - like the beggars in the Six of Pentacles. When the message I’m putting out the Universe is, “I don’t have enough,” that’s exactly what I’m going to get back.
When, instead, my core belief is that I have everything I need, I am programming the Universe to give me everything I could possibly need that would contribute to my greatest good. “Everything is how it needs to be right now,” reads the Divine Order card. My job is to fully BE where I am now. In the (paraphrased) words of Marianne Williamson, anything that would contribute to our truest happiness and highest good is either here already, or is on its way!
My new daily affirmation will be: I have everything I need.
