September 8, 2021 [80/100] ::: Today was alright. I took care of a few things in my apartment. My bf and I are shuffling rooms so I had to make room for his stuff to fit in mine. Bonnie and I had our co-working zoom session later than normally which required me to put some shade in my window to block out the sun.

I worked a bit more after than but I feel my motivation slipped from me again, but it's rooted in the fact that I am once again at a point where I don't know what topic to read up. I texted my PI ten minutes after our meeting was scheduled. "Ok, I'm coming", was their response, but yeah. Meeting itself was alright*. There's only going to be one more in two weeks from today and then I'll stop for now and focus on studying. I went outside, got myself some falafel and enjoyed the late summer sun.
* Actually, I, for once, asked a few questions. One was a discussion about a paper that Bonnie recently sent me and that was somewhat controversial. Was interesting to see what PI had to say about it.
And secondly: So there's this moment when I get comments that PI asks me questions and I always feel stupid because I can't answer them BUT
!
I never know if these are genuine questions or questions to test my knowledge and see whether or not I am up with the literature. I always felt stupid because I assumed it was the latter, but it turns out that these questions were always genuine and PI really wants to know.
So we had a little exchange bc I came up with an idea to solve on of their questions and they went:"Huh, interesting, yeah, that might explain it to some degree." Turns out, I am not (that) stupid after all.
The schools online-learning-platform (which is used by almost every school in my state) is down. Again. As if they hadn’t learned from Lockdown1.0
952 deaths yesterday
27.728 cases in the past 24h
everything other than supermarkets, drugstores, pharmacies and doctors’ offices is closed. No more hair cuts for us. again.
Bnha is my safe haven atm
uni is going on as usual. study videos, zoom-meetings, reading texts, clean-writing notes
I’m now officially 20 letters(?) into the japanese alphabet. please someone tell me that the only difference between the Katakana for “shi” and”tsu” is that the little lines for “tsu” are more vertically than those for “shi” that are somewhat diagonally.
I’m procrastinating by writing this, but now i’m out of things to write
Oh. Basically all my friends from uni are starting to struggle mentally now. Now that i’m starting to do better (thanks to these cool new meds). someone send help.
Hello, all. I hope you are all safe, I'm keeping you in my thoughts ❤️
I am a little desperate, so I'm reaching out to all corners.
I'm in need of an RV to safely get my mom and grandma home from Florida. They were supposed to come home a week after lockdown started here, and have been stuck there since.
I have tried to find an inexpensive used one, and have been scammed, ghosted, and now just exhausted.
If anyone between NY and FL-- or who is willing to get to a meeting place in that general area-- has access to one that they wouldn't mind lending me, so I could get them home, I would be eternally grateful. I'd pay for wear on the vehicle, or a flat fee, whatever you're comfortable with.
21/09/2020 :: i could not fall asleep yesterday (sunday) when I remembered the work/tasks I did not finish last week. at 1 a.m. I opened my google calendar and set goals. thesis, writing, research. 5 times a week, 1-2 h each. google automatically looks for time slots to fit these activities in. also: running (4x 1.5h), gym (3x 1h), cooking (5x 1h) and I found “nap” in the “me time”-category, of which I chose to have 3 a week. I let google run my day today and got stuff done. shocking.
