Getting yanked, against his will, into another reality has been both a blessing and a curse. There is still much he doesn't know about how or why he got teleported here. And although he doesn't have the faintest clue on how to get home, he attempts to solve that mystery while also helping to subtly fight crime in this strange Gotham. Beating up bad guys is easier said than done, especially when he has to avoid his alternate reality family at the same time. He does a good job of it until... Until he sees Jason. It seems this Batman failed Jason as well.
It's not his job to protect this Jason or kill this Joker. But he does so anyways. He failed time and time again to kill his Joker for his Jason. He won't fail Jason, not again. And that's how he finds himself, caught literally red handed, blood dripping down his gloved hands, an unmoving clown at his feet as Red Hood finds his target (the Joker) and an unexpected, alternate-reality guest.
