Today I wanted to share another poem.

Corybantic

It starts with music. Deep, thumping bass With a wild melody. Then there’s dancing, Bodies pressed together Close, intimate, warm. Alcohol burns down throats, Loosening the limbs And sparking desires. Faster now, faster, Moving with the music And bodies on either side. It’s ecstatic, joyous, A frenzied celebration Of life and need and want. Sweat drips down bodies Pools in little hollows Tinges the scent of arousal. It’s visceral and primal, This dance in the dusk, Only the moment matters. Hands now, roaming skin Need more, want more, Reaching out in the gloom. Lips meet skin, kissing, licking, As the wild music crescendoes Reason abandoned for passion. Cries and moans pepper the air Sinful harmony to the music As dancers sink to the ground. The dance continues, even now, In singles, twos, threes, groups, Wild and passionate and carnal. The music peaks, the cries too, As corybantic dancers crest, Life celebrated and desires sated
