Behold! Lemme walk you through
Simon The Convict Ceti:
Died as he does in the movie, box goes up, he gets eaten and bright light explodes on AT-5. Turns out his specific pinhole in the universe was witnessed, and God decided he would make a great candidate. So, It fiddled with the timeline a bit, and Simon became Tau Ceti :)
Ryland Grace:
He died after getting the beetles sent to Earth (and Erid :)), succumbing to burns from Ammonia, and head trauma from the sudden descent to Adrian
Simon–and a few others–basically just yelled at God until It turned Ryland into the Saint of Satellites, man-made or natural.
Adrian and Rocky:
Adrian died a few years after Rocky got sent to Tau Ceti, trying so hard to save as many people as they could. They died of heartbreak and stress, and have their own statues on Erid.
They were going to become an astrological object either way, but in their final days all they talked about was Rocky. Because of this, they became The Planet Adrian so they could forever look after their mate
Rocky died due to injury from saving Grace, cold burns to his insides and utter exhaustion. He died while Grace was watching his sleep, trying so hard to recover.
Rocky slept so long when he first became a little asteroid, so happy to finally be watched by Adrian again <3 He continued to watch Grace sleep every single time, up until his final rest
Notes/tidbits :)
Stars are God's "pinholes" to the universe, making sure It knows where and how to help. That's why It had so much trouble when the Rapture happened in one universe. The explosion at the end of Iron Lung was enough for God to drag Simon out, and re-establish connection to the humans there
Simon did not have top surgery before dying, that was just a little treat for being a very brave little human and saving the universe
They were given the captain Kirk ripped shirt treatment so I could showcase the designs, enjoy the exposed skin you freaks
Adrian emits a constant low hum, just like real planets. You can actually search up the sounds various planets in our solar system make, trust me it's really fucking cool. Yes Earth does it too. Our entire solar system is constantly singing and you're listening to wheezer.
Simon has astrophage hair because I said so
Ryland spins around everyone just like he paced in real life around everyone. If he's yammering he's probably orbiting someone. Literally.
Just like the inspiring AU, they can change size at any time
They can interact with other objects in space that have souls attached to them :)
As for other characters, Eva Stratt would become Earth (Terra), Carl would become our moon (Luna), Ava would become AT-5, Jack would become The Lungs (space edition), and uhhh David is there
Simon became an astrological object first, then Adrian, then Rocky, and lastly Grace
Simon glows really fucking bright when upset, like "Vague outline of a person and one very terrifying eye" bright. Petrova frequency red too.
Adrian can do the same petrova glow when mad. It's very intimidating to have an entire planet humming and glowing at you after you insulted a random asteroid for being itty bitty
They all have their own little jobs assigned to them :) Simon reports on how the solar system is doing as a whole, being God's pinhole. Adrian reports on the planet Adrian ofc, but also all the other planets in more detail. Rocky reports on everything new that enters and exits the solar system along with building asteroids and new space stuff. Ryland gets to report on the Hail Mary, the Blip-A, any satellites in the Tau Ceti system, and of course, all the man made satellites around Earth, and all the things Earth sends out into the universe :)))
