OKAY BUT thinking about how Zayne will react to Caleb's return???
MC had a crush on Zayne when they were kids, but it was implied he had to leave because he went all Elsa and accidentally hurt MC with his Evol. MC didn't remember so in her mind, he just... left. And I know she was devastated by it. But Caleb was there to help put her pieces back together and the two of them got even closer.
Fast forward years later. MC is a hunter now and Caleb is a pilot, so they don't see one another much. Zayne surprisingly reappears in her life as her's and Gran's doctor. They start to get close again by interacting through regular doctor appointments and running into one another in Linkon City.
Then Caleb and Gran die in the explosion and Zayne is the one to pick MC up this time and help her put all her pieces back together. Just as she is getting back into a normal routine and has found happiness through not one, but four amazing men who adore her, Caleb comes back from the dead to take her and turn her life upside down again.
I can honestly see Zayne wanting to kill him, childhood friend or not.
I'm kicking screaming frothing at the thought of Caleb and Zayne interacting again. I know it would be so tense and Zayne's fist would be a ball of ice with the effort it takes to reign in his Evol. Meanwhile Caleb is grinning like a villain, his own cyborg arm fisted and ready to fight his childhood best friend over her.

Part of me wants to just... incept myself back into Cosmic Encounter fixation and do something crazy like "draw all the aliens out of the FFG versions" but then I remember that some of the aliens would just be Unfun to interpret (like Void and Anti-Matter). Also, there's over 200 of them.
I did draw a few of them back in 2019-20 but they were a Twitter-only thing.
I also had a 'fanfic' in the works that I never got around to doing anything with (and probably never will because it's a lot of work with a 99% chance to rot on the vine).
Still, fun setting, though I'm sure people will find a way to find things wrong with it due to its background and theme, but it's a great Goober-palooza of a setting in its vague "emergent storytelling through boardgame mechanics" sort of way...
