I got to episode two of Mr. Robot before I noped out because its just SO BAD. Rami is SO adorable but the whole thing is just blegh. by episode two: a thing set in new york had just one black guy with a speaking role and it was one line. weirdly islamaphobic line that didn't even make sense? implied rape! ppl voyeuristically watching a naked woman who doesn't know shes being watched! and also bad writing and the heaviest of heavyhanded metaphors. siiiigh. i so wanted it to be good because Rami.

Yeahhhh I figured SOMETHING had to be wrong with it. I mean I think I can stomach that, but just me vry displeased with it? Unless it gets worse. I’m good with bad writing/technical flaws, but not with feeling uncomfortable or squicked out (in the non horror sense). But most shows I wanna watch feel like hey were made to deliberately keep me away.

There’s something very lonely and “othering” when you can’t watch all the popular shows because they’re very anti-you.
