Something I don’t think you’ve ever elaborated on are the followers that The False Prophet had to kill after Shamura forced them to turn during crusades. You’ve implied it with their opinions of the spider, but you’ve never said who those followers were and showed the events both during and immediately after.
Just figured, what with how hard they take the necessary sacrifices of The Keys, I can only imagine how they feel about their completely unnecessary deaths, and by their own hands no less!
DING DING DING! Finally, someone who remembers that Shamura makes you kill 3 followers. Thank you so much for this ask; I've been waiting for it for a long time.
Now, this is the main problem with the former Spider Bishop and their relationship with the False Prophet: Shamura made it personal.
While Heket and Kallamar only caused minor problems for the cult, things that were completely solvable (and when they were brought into the cult, it caused them some karma in how they were treated), Shamura is a completely different matter.
The False Prophet is a mix of sentimentalist and possessive with their cult, their property, what's theirs. The punishment for defiling what is under that title is great and painful, but forcing them to do it with their own hands? The emotion is difficult to describe, much less the retaliation.
The only reason Shamura is alive and in the cult is a mixture of keeping their word to Silkcradle Key, who asked them not to hold a grudge, as well as waiting for Time to give them a solution for the hole in their chest that demands that the spider pay.
As an extra Fun Fact, and to rub salt in the wound, the False Prophet believes that every death caused by the Red Crown tears that life from the eternal cycle. Does this matter to them during the Crusades? Absolutely not; those outside the cult usually don't matter to them in the slightest. Do with that information as you please.

Can i have narinder
I guess not...
(Sorry for the wait!)
Lamb Game questions! I pick questions number 24, 27, 31, and 36.
24. If they were to be a parent or are, what epithet would they have their child use? Mom? Mama? Dad? Baba? Nony? Abba?
mother/father because the lamb likes to keep things formal and polite
27. Is your lamb flirtatious?
he can be flirtatious to get what he want. with narinder, however...
31. Is your lamb ever honest about their feelings or past? With who?
never basically. he keeps his past entirely to himself. nobody else other than narinder knows who he really is and where he's from. as for the feeling, he keeps his emotions to himself too and rarely opens up.
36. Is your lamb a good cook?
not at all. he relies on narinder (mainly) or his followers to do the cooking for him.
how about 40 for leshycat?
40. An impulsive kiss
I'd say their first kiss was pretty impulsive! It was actually Sitri who kissed Leshy first, and now the rest is history! 💗
A fascinating realization I just came to, is that, well, do light spirits *really* need to be Children of the Light?
As far as I can tell, it's all just a job. And da big boss is the Tree. Ru strikes me as a modern day kid that refuses to work bc she sees how fucked the system is and definitely doesn't think its worth it, even if she might learn a neat thing or two under proper guidance (which is unfortunately not present at the moment, Tashi and Iya can only be so much for Ru atm).
Tashi strikes me as someone who's gotten fired due to supreme job incompatibility (their low self esteem making them not ready for a real leadership position, and warping their view of the circle of life by always protecting the prey/underdogs), but lives in a family household where they're made to feel that being a Child of the Light is the only job they can do. Can there be other things out there for light spirits? Can't they thrive just as well without having to be a little talk pieces for their Parent?
We know spirits like Ashi can thrive just fine without being a Child of Light. And technically, *they've* been a better 'child of light' than any of the other actual Children thus far (except for apparently Iko, who is loved by many bc they actually like the animals they care for ❤️🩹).
It'd be really interesting if the story shifts in such a way where, hey, maybe banishment might not suck that bad for Tashi and Ru, if they actually have an excuse now to venture out on a pilgrimage like Kua. Given that light pools aren't localized entirely around the Tree (I'm almost surprised the Tree hasn't hogged them all given how ignorantly insidous they've been treating their children thus far), it sounds like a light spirit can venture just abt anywhere so long as they can find a pool to rekindle. Hell, the fact that Kua managed to find a dark pool some ways from the forest to re-dim every now and then definitely means something for the geographical agency of spirits in general.
Love this ask. OuO Sorry it took me a moment to answer it, I had a situation w my pets going on and my partner was visiting.
You're going to love Chapters 10 and 11 I think.
You're especially on point about Ru!
