The only way to avoid being late to a trend is by hopping on it before it becomes a real trend
Fanfiction idea I've been trying to work on for years (Portal 2, ChellDOS, arguably D/s themes, arguably smut), really wanting someone to rant and rave about it with, aware that this is probably an unrealistic idea like so much kinky smut about there but hopefully can keep suspension of disbelief required to minimum:
Chell as GLaDOS's friend who visits her some weekends and has watched her bloom over many years into a vulnerable full fledged person who laughs and cries and lives for more than just revenge and torment, testing as euphoric response that is never quite enough to satisfy GlaDOS except when it's Chell smiling up at the cameras, slipping hints of her dance lessons into her movements around the chambers and putting on a show of elegance and skill, beaming with pride at her own cleverness, voluntarily disarming herself to tuck her portal gun under her arm and sign, I've got you, just another minute, I'll take care of you - and when she finally opens the chamberlock, gazing awed into GlaDOS's cameras at the noises of pleasure she doesn't try to muffle anymore and leaning on her walls and whispering, reverent, “I love you.” Then and only then is it enough – Chell thinks it's GLaDOS's human origins crossing wires with the programming enforced on her, which is ridiculous, but what else could make GlaDOS feel so cradled by the tiny human inside her, feel like Chell is reaching gentle fingers into all of GLaDOS's hurts and scars and empty aching places and melting her into a puddle of sheer pleasure?
Sometimes - with warning beforehand, because the last time Chell rode an excursion funnel was Wheatley's big surprise and Aristotle vs. mashy-spike-plate (even at the time, GLaDOS's anger had been far outpaced by her second-hand embarassment at that utterly moronic sentence she wished she could erase from her memory banks forever) - Chell will let GLaDOS pick her up in a funnel and carry her to the next test, and GLaDOS will rock the funnel back and forth, not fast enough to drop Chell but just enough to sway her, sometimes murmuring gentle praise, sometimes humming softly, reveling in how Chell's whole body relaxes as she drifts along in the closest thing GLaDOS has to an embrace.
Sometimes GLaDOS likes to remind Chell how vulnerable she is in GlaDOS's massive chambers, and how dependent upon GlaDOS for her every breath, and how safe. It's different from the way she would taunt her test subjects before, different to find Chell's most vulnerable spots and use them to melt her instrad of break her, but GLaDOS finds she likes this type of power far better as she watches Chell's eyes flutter shut for a moment, her mouth break into a loose smile, her face turn up hopefully to the camera as she crumples on her knees onto the chamberlock button with her cube, breathing heavily, the reverence on her face as GlaDOS tells her, “Well done, very good.”
But Chell never lets GLaDOS get on too much of a power trip – one test chamber, two max, then Chell will snap herself out of it, wait until GLaDOS is caught up in talking, then execute a critical part of the puzzle before GLaDOS knows what's going on, making her break off into a little whimper of pleasure. They've never entirely stopped fighting, it seems.
But that's okay, because afterwards Chell will toss her portal gun aside and burst out of the elevator to hug GlaDOS tight and press kisses to her faceplate. Sometimes GLaDOS will lift Chell up with her maintenance claw to rest on her body - the same body that is responsible for the longing and the aching, that Chell bows her head against solemnly and kisses softly. But the ache is gone for now, and GLaDOS is content, and so Chell curls up on top of GlaDOS and rests, sometimes talking quietly to GLaDOS, sometimes sleeping deeply, letting the whirring of GLaDOS's work and thoughts and tender love lull her to sleep.
(Or in sum, testing as a deep mutual vulnerability that fulfills both war-battered women's deepest yearnings.)
Chell will rest there until she's ready for the bike ride home, where her three housemates, her family, will be waiting for her with hugs (except for Cassie, her dear friend she'd rescued from the turret redemption line, who couldn't have arms added to her body nearly as easily as the other two and so can't do any hugging herself, but Chell is good at picking up turrets safely by now) and a dinner that is probably edible and good-tasting as long as Cubert is supervising. They always insist on make her dinner when she goes to test with GLaDOS.
Wheatley, GLaDOS's greatest gift of love to Chell, is still bad at cooking, but that's okay. He's pretty good at being a friend now that he has people who are kind to him, and that's what counts.
Prompt #149
A petal- just a singular rose petal- was what Hero had to hold on to. All they had which was even somewhat close to their life days ago. Even still, it wasn't home enough.
Who ever decided the rich red, like blood, was romantic? Hero wished they could just appreciate the petal for what it was- something beautiful and delicate. Even seeing it as a completely evil thing, it represented Hero's sanity, and their wholeness. If that petal ever disappeared- or hell, was even ripped- Hero's soul might as well be cleaved into two.
But, of course Villain would recognize this- this desperateness for normalcy, and they would crush it beneath a polished boot. Would even take the liberty of ripping the petal into shreds, shoving them between Hero's teeth, and making them swallow it.
Hero didn't have a home before this. This was their home- Villain was their home. And until all Hero saw in rose petals was that blood red, they'd never see a petal again.
This is the horse anon. Yes, THAT 🐴 horse anon. The one who made a mistake late one night. Anyways, I'm just super delighted to see your posts and you being so chill/funny by some slip-up I made. Everyone here is so damn wild, keep it up!
[ i’ve had this in my inbox for maybe a week now, and everytime i look back at it it reminds me of a MUCH simpler and funner time i’ve had here on this blog.like first and foremost, thank you so much for sending this, and of course for being such a good sport in the running gag that’s sprung up here.i never really intended it to be such a staple on the blog, but it relieves me to know you’re okay with it. 🙏i always remind everyone about the legend that is the “🐴 anon”, and while each and every ask that’ve used the emoji were always able to bring a smile to my face, ( while i can’t guarantee i’ll stick around here for very much longer ), i’ll try my best to make you proud and at least leave you all with a fond memory of myself and Papa. ]
Vague grumbling about my taste in media under the cut.
I’m really considering just giving up on outside “fannish media” because.... well, I’m just so tired of being disappointed with the things I read/watch. I love dark (specifically high fantasy and sci-fi) fiction and I tend to gravitate 9 times out of 10 toward the villains and morally grey characters as my favourites, and it’s so purely blegh to see them get killed/thwarted/otherwise removed while the holy hero has a snappy one-liner about “The Light” or other such things every. single. time. Like, no shade to people who enjoy it, I can perfectly understand how seeing good triumph would give those sweet sweet warm fuzzies, but all it does for me is frustrate and annoy me, and it’s been building up over the last couple years to the point where I think I’ll just stick to my own stories and characters, at least for a while, seeing as I can control them to my liking.
Still not certain if I should be posting this, but it is my blog and I should probably use it as one at least once. Perhaps I want suggestions for things that won’t disappoint me, or sympathy from those who feel the same -- if there is anyone who does that is. I’m really not certain, I just needed to say it. And I apologize if any of this brought your mood down.
I should go to bed and think on it.
