Wow! These are so inspiring! Would you be able to do one for 'counterpose?' -- you know, the pose in yoga that loosens what was tight and tightens what was loose? It really wants to be my word of the year, and I'm exploring it and trying to understand why.

Day 40: Jillian Michaels Yoga
So as I mentioned in my last post, I had a crazy, stressful day. I intended to go to yoga after my 4y/o's football class, but then I realized I forgot my ID. This was problematic because I can't put said 4y/o into the gym childcare without my ID. So I had to come home instead, and after this day, I just oped to do a yoga video.
I decided to try the Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown. Yeah. Jillian Michaels doesn't practice a lot of yoga. She had us flowing through camel, doing what was essentially lower back crunches. Not good. She told me to do incorrect alignment in my warriors, and has no idea what a counterpose is. Fortunately, I do know what the correct alignment is, and how to add in counterposes. But my back still hurts.
She calls it power yoga and has us flowing through many poses pretty quickly. I like a yoga classes that have some flow, but also honors the power of holding a pose for a longer period of time. Until your muscles burn, or maybe even shake. There wasn't any of that in Yoga Meltdown.
I did level one and it was too easy. I'd only recommend this as a basic guide through your practice, but to keep your common sense and modify anything that seems weird or wrong. Oh, and there was no savasana, but I did my own.
