I’ve been to at least 10 countries in my lifetime. Never do I clench up inside when I see police, except whenever I’m in the United States. And I’m a foreigner, still afraid of being targeted simply because I am Black. My brother and sister now live in the United States (sis was born there) and I am terrified for them every day.
It’s a crying shame how badly Black people have been treated, and still being treated, by the country and the people who are supposed to protect them. My country of origin is a developing nation and can almost be excused for their ignorance due to the overall lack of education.
But as one of the biggest economies and most developed places in the world, what is America’s excuse?
