I had a difference of opinion on this with some people around me and want to know what you all think. Consider two couples: 1) a couple consisting of a cis man who is a 0.25 on the Kinsey scale & uses the straight label for simplicity and a bisexual cis woman 2) a couple consisting of the same man* and an AFAB femme presenting NB person who only dates men/masc presenting people (*he does respect his partner’s gender)
Both are straight couples because that’s how they come across
#1 is a straight couple bc of genders, #2 is not a straight couple
#2 is a straight couple bc of sexualities, #1 is not a straight couple
Neither couple is straight even though the man identifies as straight
