Love Poem

Out of so much free time, and just simply creativity, my boyfriend and I wrote a poem for each other. We did not set a theme or a specific topic for this and we were both surprised when we read each other's poem.

A Love Apart

Your voice is the sound I want to hear

Like your touch that I always long to feel

The sight of you makes me want to scream

How beautiful this feeling that you give

You are so extraordinary

And I can't be luckier that you chose me

You have the sweetest and purest heart ever

And a man like you deserves an eternal lover

You taught me what real love is

With all your patience and sacrifices

Even if we are 9 hours apart

Trust my love I will take care of your heart

I never thought we will be this far

For as long as you hold me in my arms

All the troubles we will get through

Cause i swear to be strong and the reason is you

nakaukit na sa’king utak

distansiya tayo ay hinamon

mga pinagdaanan kahapon

sa ngiti mo ako’y babangon

We have been in a long distance relationship for 4 years now. Four months after we started dating, we were parted because I chased my dream job and that is being an international flight attendant. I never imagined myself being in a distant relationship like this. They say it is never gonna work. But now I have come to realize that there is not a thing that can speak on behalf of love. Relationship works because it is your choice - a choice if you want to keep it to keep going or a choice if you want to let go and be free.

Poem for the Couples

The heart stores the love as the brain stores the images of yall being together. The hands record the warmth, as the feet walked towards the dream you found her in

A hug recover the date and a kiss will live forever.

The reason why I fallen in love with you left me breathless.

With you i'm stronger, with you my days are better, and I couldn't live without you.They will try to tear us apart, but a part of your universe is where I want to be.

The First Day

It was the first day of the semester.

I looked around for the 3 things I seek in any new class:  A study partner My future wife And a third thing to include in my list Because comedy works best in threes.

With a familiar face  Taking the place Of my study partner I continued my search.

She had brown eyes And a sticker from my favorite TV show on her Laptop, Ergo We were meant for each other.

We’d both be assigned to the same group project  Become friends Then become more than friends We’d go on cute dates to places like The aquarium, Wherever that is.

I’d make mac n’ cheese for her Because my cooking ability Is limited to foods Where the recipe is on the back of the box.

She’d eventually meet my parents They would love her, Obviously, Because she can hold her own in a battle of quips.

We would go long distance after college Pursuing separate occupations In separate cities

Only for me to eventually abandon my career goals  Move in with her And fulfill my life long dream of becoming a househusband.

Smiling at the thought of our life together, I looked at her Then looked at the syllabus. Emboldened at the top, it read:

All work is to be done individually.
