Unknown Artist - Megahit 8 (Worldwild Music, 1996) Found In: Farplace Animal Rescue (Woolston, Southampton) Price: 33⅓p (£ for £1)
Let's start with the positive: that cover is the most 90s thing to ever exist in the world. FOUR different flavours of 90s font! Obelisks swimming through weirdly-textured water in a manner so incomprehensible that AI would write it off as a fever dream but AI didn't exist in '96 which means that A HUMAN DESIGNED THIS.
I'm going to just bask in the glory a little longer. Just a little longer before I wake up and face cold, cruel reality.
Seu Jorge - The Life Aquatic ( David Bowie Tribute)
See Jorge: This year marks 10 years since David Bowie’s passing. And 10 years ago I started a season that traveled around the world, singing versions in Portuguese.
I was tasked with the mission of creating these versions for the film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
And that’s how my relationship with this artist began, whom I already admired not only as a singer, a composer, an instrumentalist, but also as the great actor he was.
And the last time I performed this repertoire for the public, there was no audience at all, because of what befell us, the 2020 pandemic.
And this year I did a live stream singing this repertoire, interpreting Pelé dos Santos, in a very, very beautiful place, on the coast here in São Paulo.
This year I intend to bring an edited version of what that live stream was, in tribute to the passing of David Bowie, but also to the eternal musical legacy he left through these works and how much these works are present in people’s lives.
I hope you enjoy this material, completely dedicated to him and, why not also to Wes Anderson, who had this whole idea.

Fighting Dogs - The Price Of Grain (Poison Girls cover)
Wanna hear a Poison Girls cover done in a borderline-stadium-crust-style from the early 00's? Probably not, but I finally found this mp3 in my archives and this band was pretty important for me for a couple years, so here you go...
