Quarantine 2
PANDEMIC 2020, NYC. TIMES SQUARE
The pandemic was an interesting time in history. Seeing Times Square so empty to the point that I could stand in the street and not risk being hit by a single yellow cab was insane. I've never seen my city so dead, it was very surreal. NYC is the city that never sleeps and during the pandemic it napped. We still had people out and about, but it wasn't the same. No crowds to be seen for miles, just people sprinkled about here and there.
I found this graphic saved to my work phone from back in fall 2021 and it was basically like, this is the last "normal" grade that these children were in. And I feel like the world is not back to normal, or like, we're in a different set of issues, with the book bans and the trans and queer stuff and the gun violence. It's just not the same as when I was in school.
So I'm trying to be more gentle with our children, because for some of them, they developed during a pandemic. Their worlds at 3, 5, 8, were not the safe worlds they needed to develop. They were chaos, no matter what their parents beliefs. No child was immune from the pandemic.
We're still living with COVID's effects. We will be for generations, especially as more and more comes out about the effects of COVID infection and long COVID. So remember this when you have that bad behavior, that immaturity. They missed years.
A big, HUGE thank you to all the writers and readers that keep this blog going! I love you all!! I hope everyone survived the craziness of 2020. 💜Here is a short list of great sterek fics written in 2020. You can find the previous years on the tag page here.

"Rich people are loosing money. You Are Disposable. Get back out there & work feckless scum"
Sticker in Barry, Wales, mocking the British Government's official coronavirus ads.
Its a serious topic but I couldn't help but huff a laugh at the way this artist made the pelvises of these skeletons in the shape of hearts.
The book is a graphic novel called Covid Chronicles.
Credit to Tamara Tornado and Seth Tobocman. The comic is titled Apocalypse of Ignorance.
