Supergirl season 3 finale

this will be incoherent rant and I don’t care. so prepare for a long ass post with no particular order

I thought it was too easy for Patricia to be real, but it turns out I was wrong.

first time we’ve seen Kara go back in time; just like Superman did in the movies

and it worked; is the Supergirl we see in Russia a double version? an evil version? who knows

Sam saving herself against Reign was damn beautiful. I love it; her and Ruby both lived and I’m grateful

I know it won’t happen, but Sam, Lena and Alex are my OT3

J’onn losing his dad was heartbreaking. but I hope he can find a new life, a new way to move on and not miss out on anything else

Alex being Director now helps her be both DEO and future mom. I respect that this show clearly states the wonderful truth that she can be both.

I love my Danvers sisters, and how they continually grow together. I do want Kara to be able to see her mom again, at least sometimes. there has to be a way.

(sidenote, Alura kicked ass this episode. that was a lot of fun)

“you got it kid, now let’s blow this thing and go home” absolute gold.

Coville finally did the right thing, in the end. took you long enough, but you finally did.

I’m more okay with Winn leaving because he needs a purpose. He needs to know his tech works, and that it can make a difference. it was sad to see him leave, and see everyone say goodbye; lord knows I love him, and I will miss him, but it felt fitting

I am here for Mon El and Winn working together now. I really am. I missed their dynamic, which wasn’t as present this season.

James telling everyone he’s Guardian was good; now for the repercussions next season. should be an interesting arc with a hero whose identity is known

Lena’s going full villain next season; now that should be dark and twisty

and, before I rant, I DO feel like Mon El being the hero and going to the future yet again to help the Legion and the world, was fitting too. His whole arc got resolved this season. his last moment with Kara was beautiful and sad

THAT ALL BEING SAID: I am motherfucking pissed off and sad that he’s leaving. that Chris is leaving the show, and probably not coming back (maybe for like one or two episodes like Cat Grant last season). All this buildup for nothing. All the angst, all the pain, all the little moments, all the ways Kara and he were able to build a new kind of relationship, and how Imra broke up with him, and how we got those Karamel moments on Argo, and all of this season.

yes, I think it was done well. But what I would’ve done, is have Mon El not leave the show. I know this is complete wish fulfillment, but I envisioned a season 4 where we have flashes between the present and the future, and Karamel having a relationship in all that. Because while I can appreciate that they both have their own worlds to save, and yes I do appreciate well done angst, a big part of me wonders what the actual hell the writers were thinking building all this up.

its not fair. I want Kara and Mon El to be heroes and be together.

(off to write my fix it fic; you’re all invited. Not to my funeral of death by happiness, but to my zombie rising from the dead to ghost write my own ideas that are clearly superior)

anyway, despite all that, I did this this season finale was probably my favorite.

I know some think all the goodbyes and stuff were rushed, but I think they were done as well as they could within the confines of an episode that had to also wrap things up with the Worldkiller and the witches.

Brainy staying behind should be fun; I have enjoyed him this season.

and maybe I’ll change my mind, but I will be rather upset if after TWO DAMN SEASONS OF KARAMEL AND ROMANCE AND BUILDUP AND WORKING THRU STUFF AND COMING OUT STRONGER THAN EVER, ONLY TO HAVE MON EL FUCKING LEAVE BECAUSE HE’S A GOOD MAN AND HERO (yes I know it’s a good reason, just let me have this okay it hurts), THEY DECIDE TO HAVE KARA FALL FOR BRAINY. I KNOW IT’S A COMICS THING BUT RIGHT I’M THINKING NO THANK YOU
