Okay so kinda Critical Role spoilers

I am in love with how Taliesin portrays each of his characters and their views on love, and what’s sticking out to me rn is specifically how Percy’s love of Vex is juxtaposed to Ashton and Fearne.

Like,, Percy and Ashton are such different people, and Percy’s so head over heels for his wife, and Ashton and Fearne don’t think about the future a lot but they do make plans to adventure and take mushrooms together, and yeah they make out and steal from each other because what else is love if not stealing a kiss and a trinket?

But also, Percy doesn’t steal, Vex doesn’t steal, they’re both sweet but sarcastic and their love is so different and so great

Anyways shoutout to Taliesin Jaffe for playing out so many different types of love with his characters. I’m obsessed, can’t wait for the next campaign so I can become enamored with his character all over again

The ugly truth about shipping is that we’re always going to see what we want to see and no amount of well written meta is ever going to really change our minds for longer than a moment. Caleb being worried for Jester are signs of compassion for the same person that sees Fjord doing it later as signs of misogyny. One person that sees Beau’s insistence that Jester is a god as endearing while somebody else sees it as putting her on a pedestal. And it’s all because they’re rooting for one and not the other and all of that honestly is fine. 

I am not going to ever defend the honor of a fictional character. 

When I try to pop people’s bubbles is when I see someone retreating into an increasingly smaller circle, constantly reassuring themselves that what they’re seeing and hearing is not what is happening, because even in a completely fictional context that is a recipe for some emotional fallout somewhere off in the future. It’s parasocial attachment 101 and I don’t think that for the sake of shipping that it ought to be considered bad practice for people to be told they may be staking too much mental wellbeing on something that doesn’t matter really.

On the matter of shipping 💖

Hello fellow critters!!! I just wanted to hop on really quick and let you know how I felt about current romantic endeavors in regards to CR.

I am a Multishipper at heart! I’ve been prepping for any and all parings to happen and I’m thrilled that any kind of romance has been included within the show at all! It makes me really happy!!!

At the end of the day Canon is King. Not that canon should stop me or any of you from enjoying your ships that arnt canon! I’m personally I really big widojest shipper, but at the end of the day these characters arnt mine or yours they are the CR cast and it’s our job to respect the canon relationships and be positive about how the cast are choosing to play their characters

THAT DOES NOT MEAN WE STILL CANNOT ENJOY OUR SHIPS THAT ARNT CANON. I will die with an iron grip on some fan works for some of my crack ships. But I will die with those thoughts respectively.

Overall, it’s more important to be respectful within the shipping space. I know it’s easy to get caught up in the couple you want to be end game, but it’s better to enjoy what we have with out crating poison within our community. Everyone has different opinions on what they want to have happen, but the joy of these story’s is that we don’t choose! We just get to watch everything unfold! So please keep in mind as you are in the shipping space, everyone has that one ship they want to be canon, please ship respectfully and know canon is king but Fanon is forever 💖
