beau: you have a lot of siblings dude
caduceus: big family
beau: your parents fuuuuuuuuucked
“let’s not do that, but if you do, do it to Colton” Cad I love you man
CR2E96- Family Shatters
The title of this one is so fucking dark. Jeebus.
This was a really cool fight! Sometimes I get really bored during long battles, but the dynamics of fighting the bull around a big lake kept things interesting, and it didn’t last too long
Nott knowing levitate is very exciting to me. I can think of just a billion terrible terrible ways for her to use it. Very exciting.
I was so excited to meet The Clays. Like, holding my breath levels of anticipation. And they are perfect and I want more of them now please.
If you needed to choose one episode to best demonstrate what an incredible actor Matt is, it would probably be this one. He somehow amazingly manages to set up and differentiate six members of a family and make them all distinct but similar enough to be convincingly related. It was insane to watch
Cornelius especially was impressive because of how immediately I was like, “oh this is why Cad is Like That. This is where stuff comes from.” Cornelius was just instantly friendly and kinda dopey in this way that made it obvious how much Caduceus gets from him, and it was so neat to get that context for him.
So I’ve been away from home for college for the last ~4 months, and I thought I was doin’ alright but Cad reuniting with his family snuck up on me in a way that I really didn’t expect it too? His mom was freed and instantly ran to hug him and I started just started crying. I just cried the whole rest of the scene, the catharsis for myself was so strong. I really can’t wait to see my own mom in a few weeks. I’m glad Cad got his back safe.
I love how bizarre the Nien are to The Clays, because its actually the same reaction they get from most people, but from an ironic angle this time bc The Clays are also bizarre
I want to know more about The Menagerie? The people in there were all different races. Is it a big found family? Are they all just adopted? Do they just randomly let wanderers become part of their death cult as they drop by? Does this mean that Fjord has a path to becoming a legit Stone in the future. I hope so. That Dragon borns voice was incredible also.
Slowly but surely Caduceus is becoming one of my favorites??? He’s kinda snuck up on me, I remember a long time where I was suspicious and impatient with him. I’ve come to the conclusion that we are too similar and thats why I wasn’t fond at first
It just broke my heart when his mom basically re-affirmed that his trauma at the grove was all a good thing in service of a bigger picture. He’s canonically said that he’d hate it if his decade alone was part of “the plan”. The saddest part is that I really think all that was well-intentioned and meant to be a comfort coming from his mom. There’s something interesting about the scale of trauma here being different for Cad than for the rest of the Clays, his mom the most of all. It really hasn’t been that long for her, and I bet that would make it hard to truly comprehend the tragedy of what happened to her son.
Deliver it - you don’t have to go up to the hut - trust me. Don’t go up to the hut, okay? Just get past the brambles and then leave it, okay?
Gorgon: if I even look at fjord I will stomp him to death with my hooves
