Bolaire, trying to find and build a functional relationship with his sister, creating a version where they imitate Teor and Cyd, who have this strong bond where they joke with eachother and laugh and travel great distances to save one another. All Bolaire truly knows is how to play a character, and how to craft a facade, and maybe if he can fit this approximation of strong siblinghood onto his and his sisters relationship, maybe they could be okay. But Teor and Cyd are gone now, there will never be another act in the play that is their lives, and there will be no more guidance for Bolaire to follow. He has seen how Hero and Shadia and Alagor interact, so maybe that could become a basis, but I think Teor and Cyd, who spent so much time away from eachothers worlds but were still okay when they came back together, were a good foundation to build off in Bolaire's mind. I think, likely, in time, complicated relationship with a sibling whose morals seem somewhat ambiguous may be another thing that Hal and Bolaire have in common.
