I feel like their dynamic would be akin to superman/clark and lois, ben is a bit more feisty than superman tho but shinichi is basically just a mini version of lois, the only difference is their occupation (I have alot of rewrites to ben so)

I have an au where both are already established before the events of detco and both are now trying to hide their identities together (ben is still hiding his identity here) (and maybe shinichi and the others grew up in america here and his parents moved back to japan)

I can see that despite their shortcomings, they want to grow and change as a person together
